Toyota announced pricing for the new 2022 Corolla Cross earlier this week, announcing a starting price of just $24,890 for the new Toyota sport utility vehicle. Toyota also indicated that the Corolla Cross will come in four versions, two standard with all-wheel drive and two offering AWD for just $1,400.
We also learned that the Corolla Cross will offer 608 litres of cargo space, making it more spacious than most small sport utility vehicles like the Hyundai Kona and Nissan Qashqai.
It will come standard with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a full suite of Toyota active safety technologies found in the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite of active safety technologies. These technologies include: Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Road Edge Detection, Automatic High Beams, Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian and Bicycle Detection, Lane Tracing Assist, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Other standard safety features include the Toyota Star Safety System, a back-up camera, and ten air bags, and a tire pressure monitoring system with auto location.
There will be four versions of the Corolla Cross:
- 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross L - $24,890
- 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross LE - $28,490
- 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross LE Premium - $30,590
- 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross XLE - $33,990
All-wheel drive is standard on the LE Premium and XLE trims, while the L and LE trims can enjoy AWD for an extra $1,400.
The new Toyota Corolla Cross is powered out of the gate by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine with 169 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. This engine delivers more horsepower and torque than the Honda HR-V, Qashqai, Kona, Kia Seltos, and more horsepower than the Volkswagen Taos or Subaru Crosstrek.
